On the Journey
news reel: stories of People, places, and learning AT Aspen Country Day School
My message to you today begins with thanks. Thank you for partnering with us and participating in the Aspen Country Day School community. Without you, we would not be able to offer the program that we are so excited about.
At Aspen Country Day School we believe in the distinct advantages a PreK-Eighth Grade school offers during the most critical years of a child's intellectual, social, and emotional development. We provide a loving, nurturing, and supportive environment where children feel safe taking risks, exploring new activities, and challenging themselves to go further than they ever thought possible. Whether reciting Shakespeare in a Lower School performance, preparing for the economics fair in Second Grade, presenting Day of the Living Dead and Egypt projects, skinning and skating on campus, conjugating verbs in advanced Spanish and French, testing water samples for Environmental Science, or reading To Kill a Mockingbird and I Am Malala, the student experience at Aspen Country Day is extraordinary.
I want to applaud our amazing faculty. The adults working with our children have a profound passion, commitment, and love for this school. Students benefit from outstanding teachers in every grade and in every classroom. And the level of dedication to providing an exceptional child-centered educational experience is a goal across the board.
Simply put, Aspen Country Day School is a wonderful place to be a child, and Aspen is a unique place to grow up. And, at the end of the ACDS journey, your child is fully prepared for the next step. Our Eighth Graders are ready to enter some of the most selective independent schools in the country, and they are also ready to excel locally, often placing into higher-level classes and impressing teachers in all subject areas. The stories we hear from alumni all over the country, as well as right here in our backyard, are a true testament to our academic and character-based program. We also hear how much they miss ACDS!
We are honored to have been entrusted with your children, and I look forward to watching them develop their full potential at Aspen Country Day School for many years to come. Next week you will receive a letter from Soledad Hurst, our board chair, which will start the re-enrollment process. If you have any questions, please contact Director of Admissions Susan Glah or me directly.
We are grateful that your family is part of our community, and I thank you for your ongoing support and partnership.
