As a result of an Aspen Country Day School education, students will:
develop basic operational skills and understanding of technology
use technology as a tool for learning, communicating, and presenting ideas
become proficient in research skills including searches, recognizing bias, and understanding copyright laws
understand ethical and social issues inherent in the technology age
Technology is used as a tool for learning -- both curating information and expressing knowledge and understanding. In Lower School, students attend a technology class once per week to develop both the practical skills needed to use computers, as well as the foundations of computer science. Keyboarding is introduced in a technology class, and practiced during language arts time. Lower School children use chromebooks and iPads in the classroom for projects and research. There is also a fully equipped technology lab where an entire class can work together on networked desktop computers. In Middle School, we have a one-to-one chromebook program and technology is fully integrated into the school day. Students may also take a variety of technology-based electives.
