Outdoor Education

A fundamental part of the ACDS curriculum from the the school's earliest days, Outdoor Ed is deeply embedded in the Country Day DNA. This distinctive program is a key way we foster the school values of character, respect, responsibility, community, and perseverance. Growing up in the mountains, children become competent and experienced campers, mountain bikers, hikers, skiers, climbers, and paddlers. Trips are led by teachers and Outdoor Education Program Director Collette Newell.

Taking full advantage of our location in the heart of the Rockies, these expeditions give students something not found at many other schools -- a sense of being at home in the wild places of the American West.
