Snow Day? Delay?
Aspen Country Day School may have a snow day or delayed start IF
- roads are unsafe for travel
- there's too much snow to open campus
- other conditions (power cut, etc.) make it impossible to open school on time
Snow days or delayed starts are determined early in the morning, usually before 7 am. If the decision is made to close or delay, everyone will receive a text, email, or call from our Parent Square system. The homepage of our website, www. aspencountryday.org, will be updated.
What is a delayed start?
New in 2019-20, a delayed start is designed for days when road conditions are bad at dawn but all clear by mid-morning. It's a way to ensure that the school day can continue; in most cases, school will begin at 10 am, and school bus service will run on a two-hour delay. A delayed start, along with the specific start time, will be announced via a text, email, or automated call.
Update
In the past, if either local public school district had a snow day, Aspen Country Day would, too. We now have our own, independent process for deciding whether to call a snow day or a delayed start. Families will receive notice via text, email, or automated phone call.
