Financial Aid instructions

Aspen Country Day School strives to make an independent education financially accessible for as many families as possible. We maximize and allocate our available funds to leverage the most effective and equitable distribution of tuition assistance. However, our budget for financial aid is not unlimited. Funds may not be available to cover the need requested.

How to apply for financial aid
for the 2018-2019 school year

The priority consideration, please complete your application by the dates below

Current families: January 15, 2018

New candidates: February 1, 2018

STEP #1: Complete the TADS financial aid worksheet
Click here to apply at tads.comAll families are expected to contribute, to the best of their ability, to their children's education. To determine the most equitable and appropriate share of tuition, we use TADS. This is a secure, third-party service used by independent schools nationwide. TADS evaluates the information you provide and determines how much a family could be reasonably expected to contribute to tuition. The worksheet will prepare you to answer the questions online; we strongly encourage you to complete it before logging in to TADS to start your application for aid.

STEP #2: Complete the TADS online application
Click here to apply at tads.comClick here to start your financial aid application. Please provide all the information requested, in addition to uploading any documents requested. An application is not considered complete until all portions of the application are completed.

Questions? TADS offers customer support. Use the online chat function, email support@tads.com, or call 800.477.8237/612.548.3320 Monday-Friday, 8:00am-8:00pm CMT.

STEP #3: Provide your 2016 tax returns via TADS
All those applying for aid are required to submit a signed copy of the parents’ form 1040 and all schedules, a copy of W-2 forms, and K-1 forms (if applicable). You will need to scan your tax returns and upload them to the secure TADS site.

STEP #4: By April 15, 2018: Provide your 2017 tax returns via TADS
These also get uploaded to the secure TADS site. All financial aid awards are provisional and are confirmed only after review of signed 2017 tax returns, including all forms, schedules, and K-1 forms (if applicable).

Reminders

Be on time: Families who miss any of these deadlines will not receive priority consideration by the School’s financial aid committee. We continue to accept completed financial aid applications on a rolling basis, and awards may be made at any time if funds remain available.

Honor confidentiality: Aspen Country Day School assesses the financial aid needs of each family with thoughtful and fair evaluations of that family’s unique situation. The process and outcome are confidential. We do not share a family’s financial aid information with anyone outside our financial aid committee, which includes only the Director of Admission & Financial Aid, the Head of School, and possibly the school's business office. Whether a family is receiving financial aid or not, we require that all financial aid matters and awards remain private and confidential. Please do not offer details of your situation, nor inquire of others’ information.

Questions? just ask: Please call me with any questions or concerns at (970) 925-1909 ext. 211 or susanglah@aspencountryday.net

Applying for admission?

Please follow the regular admission process that starts with inquiring online. To be considered for need-based financial aid, follow the steps outlined on this page.

Financial aid awards are determined once a student is admitted and the aid application is complete. Admitted students will be notified of their award, if any, via our online reenrollment system, which is called TADS. The responsible financial party will log in to a secure system to view, sign, and arrange payment for all tuition and fees. The electronically signed agreement is returned with a non-refundable deposit. Upon enrollment, families establish a payment plan for the following year; one-, two-, and ten-payment plans are available. The first tuition payment is due in July.

Already Enrolled?

Returning families follow the steps listed on this page. Awards are annual; families must re-apply for assistance each year. They complete the online re-enrollment process via our TADS system, logging into a secure system to view, sign, and arrange payment for all tuition and fees. A non-refundable deposit is required to hold a child's place in the next year's grade, and all student accounts must have a zero balance before any re-enrollment contract is offered. Once financial aid, if any, is determined, the account is credited. Upon re-enrollment, families establish a payment plan for the following year; one-, two-, and ten-payment plans are available. The first tuition payment is due in July.
